Camp Northway and Camp Wendigo are not peanut free

All Northway staff are required to have at minimum the Bronze Cross swim certification and CPR. Our Canoe Trip Guides have their Wilderness First Aid certification. Counsellors have Standard First Aid certification.
Water Safety
All Northway Staff and campers must wear a life jacket when on the water. Campers undergo a swim evaluation on their first day, so we can place them in the appropriate lesson group. Campers are required to check in and out of the water at all times for swimming and when using boats.
Fire Safety
Northway has a detailed Fire Safety program that is practiced on a regular basis every summer. We take fire safety very seriously.
Sun Awareness
All Northway staff are required to complete a Sun Aware Certification by the Melanoma Network of Canada. There are communal sun screen locations located at the front of camp for everyone to use in the morning and we promote frequent reapplication throughout the day.
